Military Families & ABA

Military Families & ABA

Compass is dedicated to serving our Military Families affected by Autism. We understand the unique needs of military families and strive to provide support beyond ABA Therapy. Our therapy services are designed to accommodate all changes a military child faces such as deployments, PCS, new schools, and new housing. We help with the transitioning of ABA Services in the case of PCS and in some cases can continue to provide services if we are in the servicing the area of relocation.

Changes To CACD Program With Tricare

The TRICARE Comprehensive Autism Care Demonstration (Autism Care Demo) covers applied behavior analysis (ABA) for all TRICARE beneficiaries diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). January 2015 CACD program replaced Basic, Demo and Pilot program combining it in one program.

All active duty members will have to be enrolled in ECHO and EFMP.

Step 1: Get Diagnosed

  • Your child must by diagnosed by an approved diagnosing provider.

  • ADOS 2 testing is required with in one year of diagnoses.

Step 2: Enroll in Tricare ECHO and be enrolled in EFMP (active duty only)

Step 3: Get a Referral and Authorization

This is required for everyone in all TRICARE plans

  • Your diagnosing provider will submit a referral to your regional contractor or US Family Health Plan provider for authorization

  • You’ll get an authorization letter for ABA for six months.

  • A new referral and authorization is required every six months.

Step 4: Schedule an Appointment for Initial Assessment

At initial appointment BCBA/BCaBA will conduct Assessment and Create TP to send to Tricare Case Manager for ongoing Authorization for ABA.
